Feed barley, which widely used in livestock feed, poultry feed, fish feed and pet food has been regulated by the (WSDA) regulates
For consumer protection WSDA ensures that feed barley products meet the guaranteed analysis and research stated on their label by conducting periodic product sampling at both the retail and manufacturing level. In order to legally sell feed barley products, the manufacturer and distributor must label their products on all packaged feed and must accompany all deliveries of bulk feed.In general, feed barley must be accompanied by labeling as the following information:
a. Name and address of the manufacturer;
b. Name and address of the purchaser;
c. Date of delivery;
d. Customer-formula feed name and brand name if any;
e. Directions for use and precautionary statements;
f. If a drug is used, a complete medicated feed label; and
g. Quantity statement.
If feed label uses "organic”, it must be produced under conditions that conform to the 2001 National Organic Program final rule standards for the production and handling of organic crops, livestock and processed food products.
From this way, the quality of feed barley can be ensured and the consumers can choose without worrying about buying the poor quality products.
